Has your Sony Ericsonn w580i died?
When you power it up, does it vibrate, glow a certain colour but then nothing else happens?
No display, nothing?
If that's the case, then this simple solution may help you:
First, ensure that your battery is fully charged.
- Remove the battery cover
- Remove the battery
- Remove the SIM
- Using a special tool (available on eBay) remove the front cover
- Loosen the screen by the two clips on the sides
- Remove the screen from the phone by the end of the ribbon cable (there is a small flat block connector)
- Make sure you line the connector up again and push it firmly back on (so you are reconnecting the screen again)
- Replace the screen fully
- Replace all covers, SIM and battery
- Turn on phone
It should now come back to life?
It would appear that the phone will not charge if the screen isnt connected, and obviously wont display anything. The screen connector appears to come loose over time, as the phone is quite flimsy.
This solution worked for me and I havent seen it anywhere else on the net, so I hope it works for you.
If not, then your phone is knackered.
If this works for you and I've just saved you a load of money on a new phone, why not make a donation in return? Any amount is appreciated. Click below to make your donation via PayPal - thanks in advance:
